An Australian Government agency is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join its Finance and Property Team. This broad role supports accurate and timely financial information across the organisation, including month end journals, BAS, FBT and TPAR returns, complex reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, monthly actuals reporting through CBMS, annual financial statements, external audit, TechnologyOne financial data, financial analysis, controls, compliance and continuous improvement. Applicants should have strong technical accounting experience, attention to detail, experience with month end accounting, financial reporting, annual financial statements, audit, complex reconciliations, fixed assets, BAS, FBT, TPAR, Australian Accounting Standards, TechnologyOne, Microsoft Excel, stakeholder engagement and financial analysis. Public sector experience and knowledge of the PGPA framework are highly regarded. A relevant Accounting, Finance or Commerce qualification is required, with CPA or CA highly regarded. Applicants must be Australian Citizens, willing to obtain and maintain Baseline security clearance, and able to undertake a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and pre-employment psychological assessment. The role is a 3 month contract with potential ongoing work, based in Sydney CBD with 2 days onsite and hybrid or flexible working.
