Korean Community Services of Metropolitan New York is seeking a competent, creative, and dedicated ESOL Instructor to provide high-quality English language instruction to adult speakers of other languages, with a focus on Asian and other diverse immigrant communities. Responsibilities include designing culturally responsive lessons, teaching reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills, assessing student progress, adapting instruction, supporting recruitment and retention, maintaining classroom records, collaborating with volunteers and program staff, participating in professional development and funder activities, and administering BEST Plus 3.0 assessments. A master's degree in TESOL or TEFL, or recognized TESOL or TEFL certification, and at least one year of classroom teaching experience are required. Experience with adult learners and immigrant communities is preferred. A valid BEST Plus Test Administration Certificate is highly preferred. The role requires proficiency with virtual learning platforms, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office, as well as strong communication, organizational, cultural humility, and classroom management skills. Hours may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Compensation is $35 to $40 per hour, with a schedule of 0 to 25 hours per week.
