Join Newtown Partners' investment team at an early-stage venture capital firm investing in emerging technology startups. Responsibilities include identifying and screening investment opportunities, evaluating prospective investments through market research, product reviews, competitive analysis and metrics analysis, supporting portfolio management, co-authoring thought pieces, and researching markets, industries, companies and investment themes. The role requires strong academic performance, 3 to 5 years of Venture Capital or Private Equity experience, good knowledge of blockchain technologies, intermediate to advanced financial modelling, advanced MS Excel, strong research and analytical skills, excellent organization and attention to detail, strong interpersonal and communication skills, entrepreneurial spirit, curiosity, autonomy and the ability to manage competing priorities. A Masters degree in Economics or STEM subjects and blockchain work experience are preferred. This intermediate-level position requires no prior management experience. Benefits include a negotiable basic salary based on qualifications and experience, a share in investment performance bonuses, and 20 days annual leave. Johannesburg and Cape Town based candidates are preferred, but there is no specific location requirement.
