The Courtroom Technology Specialist performs complex systems work involving the design, planning, setup, programming, and maintenance of courtroom technology, video conferencing equipment, electronic presentation systems, audio streaming, sound system equipment, and end-user devices. Responsibilities include courtroom audiovisual support and troubleshooting, Crestron programming, helpdesk support, technology training, video and teleconference coordination, equipment inventory and procurement, technology improvement projects, documentation, and communication with judges, court staff, management, and the public. Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus specialized audiovisual or information technology experience or qualifying education, depending on grade level. Required competencies include customer service, strong written and verbal communication, Windows and Microsoft 365 proficiency, hardware troubleshooting, IT security knowledge, independent prioritization, teamwork, and the ability to lift 50 or more pounds of IT equipment. Preferred qualifications include AV systems experience, Crestron or Extron programming, CTS certification, SharePoint, VOIP, VPN, web browser administration, and federal judiciary IT experience.
