Rose Theatre is recruiting a Company Stage Manager for its festive production of The Wind in the Willows, running from October 2026 to January 2027. The role has complete oversight of the production and responsibility for the day-to-day running of the company, including leading and scheduling rehearsals, technical and understudy rehearsal periods, overseeing performances, managing the Stage Management team, maintaining set and props, and coordinating additional events such as filming, photo shoots, educational workshops and assisted performances. Working alongside the Lead Chaperone, the postholder will help create a positive, supportive and enjoyable environment for young people aged 11 to 19 working with the professional cast, with responsibility for welfare, safety, safeguarding and inclusion. Applicants should have proven experience as a Company Stage Manager, or Company Manager and Stage Manager, on large-scale productions or within a similar-sized organisation, strong administrative, organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, experience leading large teams, the ability to work under pressure, and a calm, practical approach to technical troubleshooting. The role averages 43 hours per week during rehearsals and 46 hours during performance weeks, with weekend and evening work required. The work base is Lantern Arts, Raynes Park and Rose Theatre, Kingston KT1 1HL.
