Newtown Partners is recruiting a senior-level Chief of Staff to join its venture capital investment team. The position has no specific location requirement, with preference for candidates located in or willing to relocate to Cape Town, South Africa. Reporting to the Managing Partner, the role has no direct reports and involves designing, monitoring, and reviewing processes for fund management administration, investment decisions, due diligence, investment performance reporting, portfolio management, investment sourcing, market research, thought piece development, and strategic initiatives. Qualifications include strong academic performance in undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, a non-negotiable MBA or commercial Master's degree, and preferably a Master's degree in Finance or STEM subjects. A postgraduate qualification in project and program management is highly advantageous. Candidates should have 5 to 10 years of venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or consulting experience, including at least 4 years at a senior level, plus advanced financial modelling and MS Excel skills, strong research, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to manage competing priorities autonomously. Tech startup experience is advantageous. The basic salary is negotiable based on location, qualifications, and experience.
