Tailoress Atelier is seeking an experienced Studio Manager to lead a team of tailors and stitchers at its East Williamsburg, Brooklyn studio. Responsibilities include managing and instructing tailors and stitchers, communicating with fitting salon consultants, maintaining order lists and daily operations, checking garments for quality and accuracy, managing workloads, communicating daily updates and future events, ordering supplies, and scheduling shopping. Qualifications include extensive knowledge of garment construction, alterations, and patterning techniques, experience leading garment or costume fittings, private client experience, knowledge of fabrics, trims, fibers, sewing terms and garment notions, workflow and project budget management, exceptional communication and organizational skills, initiative, 10 or more years of alteration, tailoring, or custom experience, 2 to 3 years of management experience, general computer skills, and proficiency in English and Spanish. The role is full-time or contract, pays $25.00 to $30.00 per hour, includes an employee discount and paid time off, and is based in person. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 10 AM to 7 PM, with agency services on call during special seasons and weekends as needed.
