American Conservatory Theater seeks an inspirational leader to serve as its chief artistic strategist, leader, and ambassador. Reporting to the Board of Trustees and working closely with the Executive Director, the Artistic Director will define a clear artistic vision, guide long-term organizational planning, curate seasons, commission and develop productions, build national and international collaborations, grow and diversify audiences, support theater training, education, and community programs, serve as a lead fundraiser and principal spokesperson, optimize A.C.T.'s venues and spaces, and nurture a transparent, inclusive, and collaborative culture. Candidates should bring artistic vision and excellence, strategic and business acumen, programming and audience engagement experience, fundraising success, strong public presence, collaborative leadership, and a deep commitment to A.C.T.'s mission and the development of the next generation of theater artists. The anticipated base salary is approximately $500,000.
