The Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture seeks an artist or artist team to create an original, permanent, site-specific artwork on the exterior façade of the La Puente One Stop Development Center. The selected artist or team will conduct place-based research through creative civic engagement, regular site visits and design meetings, oversee the $150,000 all-inclusive budget and project timeline, and work with conservators, structural engineers, fabricators, installers and other subcontractors. The artwork should reflect the history of stewardship of the land, the diversity of past and present communities, environmental sustainability and land acknowledgment. Applicants must reside or work within the Greater Los Angeles Area, including Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, San Bernardino or Riverside County. The application requires an artist resume or CV, a description of interest and practice, experience engaging diverse audiences and managing comparable budgets or time constraints, and ten images of previous work. The project timeframe is Spring 2021 through Fall 2022.
