This course surveys Ukraine’s history from the nineteenth century to the present, covering imperial rule, the Revolution of 1917 to 1921, Soviet policies and the Holodomor, World War II, independence, the Orange Revolution, Euromaidan, and the ongoing Russo-Ukraine War. No prior knowledge of Eastern European history is required.
