Lecture course on the history and development of Jazz, from its origins to the present, using recordings, videos and DVDs. It covers American history and geography, influences, styles, chronology, musical characteristics and major Jazz creators. The course runs for 20 classes per year, 1 hour 30 minutes per week, and requires no prior level.
