Course on Jazz harmony, including chords, scales, modes, cadences, harmonic analysis, voice leading, extensions, alterations, substitutions, modal exchange and reharmonisation. Piano and singing are used to develop harmonic hearing. The course runs for 30 classes per year, 1 hour 30 minutes per week, with 7 to 10 students. Entry requires level 2 in musical techniques or equivalent, with tests at the start of the year.
