Annual 40-hour course for anyone interested in natural dyes and pigments. The programme covers natural pigments, their chemical nature, dye plants, mordanting and dyeing techniques for plant and animal fibres, pigment extraction methods, colour baths, basic ecoprinting on fabric and paper, and the creation and use of watercolour pigments. The course includes 36 hours of practical extraction and dyeing laboratory work and concludes with the creation of a workbook containing colour tests. Personal consumable materials and any required small equipment are charged to the student. The meetings take place on two consecutive days of the week.
