The Gateway Development Commission is seeking an experienced and motivated Associate General Counsel II to support the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel in protecting the Commission's legal interests and maintaining operations within legal requirements. Responsibilities include providing legal support on matters affecting the Gateway Program, analyzing legal issues, developing strategies, advising executive staff, drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, policies and regulations, ensuring legal compliance, coordinating with outside counsel, advising on insurance and risk management, managing New Jersey Open Public Records Act and New York Freedom of Information Law requests, and assisting with corporate policies and procedures. Requirements include a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, admission to practice in New Jersey and/or New York, at least 7 years of relevant legal experience, experience with sophisticated transactions and complex business contracts, claims, protests and litigation, knowledge of federal and state laws, strong legal research, writing and analytical skills, excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Transportation industry or public sector experience is a plus.
