OMG Education is seeking a committed and knowledgeable SEND Governor to join its Governing Board and provide strategic oversight, support, and challenge in relation to SEND provision across the school. The role includes monitoring the effectiveness of SEND policies, practice, and outcomes; supporting the Board in understanding statutory duties under the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice; reviewing progress data, attendance, exclusions, and wider outcomes for pupils with SEND; championing inclusion, equality of opportunity, and pupil voice; contributing to governor meetings and relevant committee work; and acting as a link governor for SEND through school visits and professional discussions with school leaders. Applicants may have experience or knowledge in education, special educational needs and disability, safeguarding and inclusion, health, social care, psychology, school leadership, governance, or lived experience as a parent or carer of a child with SEND. Previous governance experience is helpful but not essential, as training and support will be provided. Successful applicants must undertake safer recruitment checks, including social media and criminal record checks.
