A 3-day course focusing on wax carving for jewellery making. Learn about different waxes and tools, carve detailed designs, refine and polish wax carvings, use a heat pen, repair cracks and broken parts, sprue waxes, prepare pieces for casting, calculate wax to metal weight conversions and forecast casting costs, and set stones into hard wax. The course includes practical work on a pendant or earring design and a signet-style ring, followed by polishing and cleaning metal castings or creating another wax carving. Suitable for makers of all levels, with beginners welcome. Some jewellery-making experience is an advantage. All materials and tools are provided. Casting costs are not included.
