Details.
Intro-level friendly workshop led by Zoë Powell and Mitch Iburg from Studio Alluvium. Participants learn to design and create handbuilt forms for Chinese Gongfu-style tea preparation, including a brief history of Gongfu tea, creating a cohesive set, and techniques for making dripless spouts. Participants can expect to produce one gaiwan, one gong dao bei, one cha ze, and two cha bei. Tuition includes clay and bisque firing of all pieces. A tool kit may be purchased separately, and glazing and glaze firing are available for an additional fee. Pick up bisque pieces within 4 to 7 days after the workshop, or arrange shipping for an extra fee. The full package requires 10 to 14 days for bisque firing, glazing, and final glaze firing.
