The Gateway Development Commission is seeking an engineering professional with public transportation and private sector experience to support the Chief Engineer and oversee delivery of an assigned project package. Responsibilities include coordinating design, procurement, construction, permits, environmental compliance, quality assurance and quality control, scope, schedule and budget management, stakeholder reporting, insurance and claims coordination, and project close-out. The role requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, construction or a similar field, at least 10 years of infrastructure project experience with specific bridge, viaduct or embankment construction experience, knowledge of major infrastructure projects, analytical and problem-solving skills, experience in complex multistakeholder environments, and a commitment to ethics and high standards. Preferred qualifications include professional engineering licensure in New York or New Jersey, rail systems experience, tunnel rail systems design and construction experience, building impact assessment experience, and knowledge of NFPA 130 guidelines.
