Responsible for the specimen collection process, from greeting patients through to preparation of specimens for transportation. Duties include performing phlebotomies, connecting and disconnecting holter monitors, performing ECG tracings and special test collections, maintaining client relationships, completing patient data entry, and preparing specimens. An approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent is preferred, phlebotomy and ECG experience are assets, and strong communication, computer, customer service, empathy, flexibility, adaptability, problem-solving, and patient confidentiality skills are required. The successful candidate must be available for all shifts, Saturdays, and a Sunday rotation.
