A 24-month graduate placement for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants who have recently completed legal studies or are undertaking their Graduate Diploma of Legal Studies. Graduates work in various positions within the Law Reform and Legal Services Division, with opportunities to rotate across multiple positions, develop areas of interest and explore long-term career opportunities. Participants receive employment support, mentoring and cultural support, and may complete the practical component of their PLT as part of their employment. Graduates are supported in applying for permanent employment and successful participants receive ongoing employment opportunities within the division. Applicants need excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to manage conflicting deadlines and a willingness to learn on the job. No previous legal work experience is required. Graduate positions can be full time or part time. A competitive salary is offered.
