Chatswood Medical Practice is a private billing practice and charges a gap fee for all consultations. Fees and Medicare rebates are a guide only, and the doctor determines the Medicare item number based on the length and complexity of the consultation. Standard appointments are usually for one main issue, long appointments are usually for more than one issue, and extended appointments are for several complex issues. Some doctors offer discounted rates for pensioners, children and students. Saturday, Sunday and public holiday appointments attract a $20 to $40 higher fee than weekday appointments. A non-attendance fee of $40 applies when a patient does not attend a standard appointment or cancels with less than two hours notice. Private fees apply to all telehealth consultations at the same rates as face-to-face consultations.
