The AP Global News Internship is a paid, highly selective, individually tailored program for students and recent graduates aspiring to careers in journalism. The program develops cross-format skills in a workplace where every word matters. It is open to U.S. and international college upperclassmen, graduate students, and recent graduates. Applicants need a resume with projected graduation date and education status, a 300-word personal essay, four to five examples of their best work, and a reference letter. Photo and video journalists should also submit an online portfolio. Recent internship locations have included New York City, Washington DC, Los Angeles, Mexico City, London, Cairo and Tokyo. AP expects to announce plans for 2027 early next year.
