This program provides prospective coaches with the tools and knowledge necessary to excel as CrossFit Level 1 Trainers, while allowing Foundation CrossFit to evaluate their performance and knowledge of CrossFit and its culture. Participants progress from observing and studying as athletes, to assisting on the floor, and eventually leading class sections with support from a senior coach. Requirements include assisting or shadowing and participating in one full cycle of a private training on-ramp or group Foundations Program with a full-time coach; teaching 1 to 3 skill segments per class through two separate and full private training on-ramp or group Foundations Programs; completing 10 hours of CrossFit class shadowing; completing 15 hours of assistant coaching; and completing 10 hours of coaching classes under the direct supervision of the Head Coach. Participants develop knowledge in weightlifting, metabolic conditioning, gymnastics, mobility, flexibility, correctional cueing, nutrition, team cohesiveness, coaching administration, and program design. Upon completion, a position as a Foundation CrossFit coach may be offered.
