The ICU resident on-call provides medical coverage from 1800 to 0800 for ICU patients, deteriorating inpatients, the emergency department, and post-operative patients. The shift includes code blue coverage from 2400 to 0730. PRHC has a funded Critical Care Response Team and provides ICU-level support for smaller regional centres. Residents should be comfortable with central venous cannulation and advanced airway management.
