CatholicCare Victoria is seeking a Prison Chaplain L2 for the Loddon Prison Precinct in Middleton, with travel to other locations required. Reporting to the Senior Prison and Youth Justice Chaplain, the role provides religious activities and support, spiritual and pastoral care, welfare assistance, liaison and advocacy for prisoners, their families and staff across Victorian prisons and correctional centres. Duties include conducting religious and liturgical services, providing religious education and approved religious items, supporting prisoners in crisis, offering pastoral and emotional care, assisting with rehabilitation and release planning, liaising with families and external services, and working independently and collaboratively within a multi faith chaplaincy team. The role requires a qualification in theology, pastoral ministry or religious education, the ability to provide support regardless of religious affiliation, proficiency in Microsoft Office, the ability to work within strict prison procedures, awareness of issues including homelessness, substance misuse, mental health, grief and trauma, and the ability to listen without judgement and provide emotional and spiritual care. A current driver's licence, Victorian Working with Children Check, Australia-wide Police Check and right to work in Australia are required.
