From 1 July 2025, eligible NSW homeowners and small businesses can receive up to $550 for a 10 kWh battery or up to $1,500 for a 27 kWh battery by joining a Virtual Power Plant and allowing stored energy to support the grid during peak periods. To qualify, you must have an existing solar system or be purchasing rooftop solar, purchase a new battery, use a certified installer such as Solahart, and meet the requirements for eligible batteries. Your system must remain connected and active in the program to receive full benefits. The incentive is provided by the NSW Government and is proportional to the usable battery capacity.
