Join Van Der Plas Gallery on the Lower East Side and assist with the day-to-day operation of a contemporary and outsider art gallery. Responsibilities include creating promotional materials, responding to emails, communicating with artists and collectors, organizing files, assisting at exhibition openings and special functions, installing and de-installing shows, and supporting press releases, social media planning, and exhibition posters and catalogs. Qualified candidates are pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in an arts-related field or are recent graduates. Applicants proficient in Adobe InDesign and applicants with demonstrated strong writing skills will be prioritized. This is a three-month, three-day-a-week, in-person internship supporting upcoming gallery exhibitions in Fall 2026. Occasional evening gallery events are required, and interns must bring a laptop to each shift.
