Aelan Cell Technologies is seeking a Research Associate with an MS or BS in biological sciences and 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in biotechnology, with an MS strongly preferred. The role requires a strong interest in stem cell research, human mammalian cell culture experience, proficiency in basic molecular biology techniques and computer applications, and occasional weekend and evening work. Responsibilities include hESC and hiPSC culture, primary cell expansion, iPSC quality control and differentiation, cloning, 293T transfections, viral titer estimation using FACS, PCR and other molecular biology techniques, quality control assays including immunocytochemistry, gene expression profiling, phenotypic characterization, qPCR, Western blot and ELISA, maintaining laboratory inventory and accurate records, troubleshooting independently, preparing scientific reports, and assisting with proposals and publications. Experience with primary human cells, mouse embryonic fibroblasts, iPSCs and GMP is preferred or a plus. Excellent communication, organization, recordkeeping, teamwork, multitasking and independent working skills are expected.
