Details.

Surgery to replace a diseased or severely injured hip joint with a new ball and socket. The procedure may use cementless or cement fixation. The operation takes around one and a half hours. Patients are typically mobilised on the day of surgery, with discharge or transfer to rehabilitation approximately 2 to 4 days afterwards. A postoperative appointment is scheduled 6 weeks after the operation.
