Goodwin Hartshorn is looking for a talented senior industrial designer to join its London team for a full-time fixed-term maternity cover. Working under the supervision of the founders, the role covers concept generation, CAD modelling, renderings and CMF development and trend analysis, and may also include physical prototyping, design strategy and production support. The successful applicant will have a bachelor's degree or preferably higher in industrial design or a related field, at least eight years of industrial design experience after graduation, demonstrable experience taking products to manufacture, significant CMF development and trend analysis experience, strong aesthetic sensitivity to form and surface development, exceptional SolidWorks or Rhino and Grasshopper skills, surface modelling expertise, exceptional KeyShot visualisation and rendering skills, and an understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing techniques, material selection, industrial processes and assembly. Fluent written and spoken English and UK work authorisation are required. The position is for 10 months, potentially extending to 12 months or beyond, starting March 2026. The role includes close contact with clients, manufacturers, modelmakers and freelancers, with Monday and Friday generally worked remotely and the rest of the week in the company's open-plan Deptford studio.
