New Square Chambers is recruiting up to two pupils for a 12-month pupillage starting in October 2027. The pupillage carries an award of £80,000 and includes four three-month seats with different supervisors, a practising second-six, opportunities to be instructed and appear in court on your own cases, and exposure to a broad range of business and property law work, including trusts, wills, commercial disputes, civil fraud, insolvency and real property. Applicants should demonstrate ability, oral and written advocacy skills, communication skills, analytical ability, interpersonal skills, commitment to the Bar, interest in one or more Chambers practice areas, focus and drive, the ability to deal with conflict and difficult situations, and the ability to work independently. In most cases, applicants are expected to have obtained or be predicted to obtain a first class or upper second class degree and a Very Competent result on the Bar Course or equivalent. New Square Chambers welcomes candidates with atypical educational backgrounds and considers relevant extenuating circumstances. Pupils are supported through an open door policy and pastoral support from the pupillage team, within a friendly and collegiate Chambers.
