Nasal obturators are made over 3 to 5 appointments. The process includes discussing your medical history and consent, making moulds of the inside of your nostrils, fitting the obturators, checking fit and comfort, assessing speech changes with a specialist speech therapist, and guidance on inserting, removing and caring for the obturators. Follow-up appointments monitor progress, address concerns and decide when replacement is needed.
