Small to moderately sized cavities are treated by numbing the tooth and surrounding area with a local anesthetic, removing decay and bacteria, and filling and sealing the tooth with color-matched composite resin. The resin is shaped in layers and hardened with a bonding light. Composite resin is durable, functional, and designed to blend with the natural tooth.
