Details.
Non-invasive treatment using acoustic waves to stimulate healing in injured tissues. Commonly used for chronic pain, musculoskeletal conditions and tendon injuries, including plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, shoulder tendinitis, Achilles tendinopathy and hip tendinopathy. Treatment uses a handheld device and usually lasts about 5 to 10 minutes, with possible mild discomfort. Light exercise can be performed on the same day, but intense exercise should be avoided for 24 hours. Sessions are typically scheduled weekly, and most patients experience pain relief after six weekly sessions when combined with physiotherapy treatments and an exercise regimen. Available at the Newtown clinic in Sydney.
