The Mitzel Group is seeking an experienced and tenacious employment litigation attorney to manage complex matters from inception through settlement and bring a business-minded approach to each case. The role includes full-cycle litigation responsibility, a clear path to leadership, mentorship and structured support for business development, a hybrid work schedule, and complex matters across diverse industries. Responsibilities include managing employment defense matters in state and federal court, drafting and arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, developing case strategy, handling government investigations and administrative proceedings, managing discovery and e-discovery, attending mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials, advising clients on employment practices and litigation exposure, providing case updates, and participating in business development and firm initiatives. Qualifications include a law degree from an ABA-accredited law school, current membership in good standing with the California State Bar, at least 7 years of employment litigation experience, experience managing cases through trial, mediation, or arbitration, familiarity with California and federal employment laws, relevant wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, or PAGA experience, strong research, drafting, oral advocacy, organizational, case management, communication, and interpersonal skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, law firm billing, and case management software.
