Responsible for the specimen collection process, from greeting patients through to preparation of specimens for transportation. Duties include performing phlebotomies, connecting and disconnecting holter monitors, performing ECG tracings and special test collections, maintaining client relationships, completing patient data entry, and preparing specimens. An approved Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent is preferred, phlebotomy experience is an asset, and strong communication, computer, customer service, empathy, flexibility, adaptability, problem-solving, and patient confidentiality skills are required. A personal vehicle is required to support shift coverage across the SEIU area.
