The Horticultural Technical Officers report to internal scientists and external consultants, with internal reporting to the general manager. Duties include supporting machinery safety procedures and training, managing crop cycles and production scheduling, carrying out post-harvest handling, soil testing and mapping, chemical use and spray programs, machinery and equipment operation and maintenance, nutrient management, and supporting quality, biosecurity and compliance systems. Applicants must hold a Diploma of Production Horticulture or higher and have some formal experience in horticulture or agriculture. Good English skills and computer literacy are required, along with relevant agricultural chemical, Aus-Chem and First Aid Level II competencies, spray technique knowledge, and an Australian driver’s licence or equivalent. A forklift licence is desirable but not mandatory. Applicants must be willing to undertake a pre-placement theoretical skills assessment.
