Transport Infrastructure Ireland is seeking an Engineering and Sustainability Director for the MetroLink Programme in Dublin. The role will act as TII's representative for the design and engineering of MetroLink, leading the Engineering, Environment and Sustainability function and providing strategic direction for the safe, sustainable and compliant delivery of the programme across its full lifecycle. Responsibilities include developing and assuring the design and engineering brief, managing end-user requirements, establishing technical authorities, leading systems engineering, overseeing reference, tender and contractor designs, supporting procurement, managing design interfaces and changes, assuring compliance with the Railway Order and relevant standards, and integrating environmental, sustainability and safety considerations into delivery. Candidates should have significant experience leading multidisciplinary design and engineering teams through the development, procurement and construction phases of highly complex capital projects or programmes in urban environments, ideally including tunnelling and underground construction. Required experience includes leading engineering functions, overseeing major investments in the order of €5 billion or equivalent, design delivery through to operation, systems integration, design assurance, stakeholder management, sustainable technologies, project management, people management, risk and value management, and embedding new ways of working. A BSc, BEng or BA Hons in engineering or a related discipline is required. An MSc and chartered membership of a suitable professional body are desirable. The appointment is on a specified-purpose basis, with 30 days' annual leave plus Irish bank holidays, a Single Public Service Pension Scheme and relocation expenses for eligible overseas candidates.
