JTF Security is accepting applications for part-time and casual Security Professionals with Advanced Security Training for specialty deployments within the Nanaimo area. Deployments typically focus on passenger operations in a marine transport environment and require a well-groomed, calm, silent professional presence. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and orderly environment through high-level situational awareness, holding space and using advanced de-escalation techniques. Candidates should demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving, positive client and public relations, an understanding of legal guidelines for area security and public safety, basic report writing experience, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, strong observation, time management, interpersonal and communication skills. Evening, late-night and weekend availability is required. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada and hold a valid BC Security Workers License with AST endorsement. All JTF Security Guards must have a valid British Columbia Security License, access to a smartphone with data while on shift, and the ability to stand or walk for extended periods when required. Pay starts at $26 per hour.
