Group prenatal and early postpartum care integrating health assessments, education, and support. Groups of eight to twelve women with similar gestational ages meet for 10 sessions throughout pregnancy and early postpartum. Sessions include care skills, facilitated discussion, support network development, and standard physical health assessments. Topics include infant growth and development, immunizations, nutrition, illness, oral health, child safety, behavior, postpartum care, family planning, mental health, breastfeeding, relationships and safe sex, infant attachment, and life balance.
