AS First is a coaching programme for high achieving first year members seeking to kickstart a career in law. Running from January to March 2027, it combines webinars, employability workshops and coaching sessions to help members strengthen applications for First Year Insight Schemes, Vacation Schemes and future Training Contracts with leading law firms. Participants receive expert coaching on law firm applications, employability conferences, interactive workshops, tailored CV guidance, partner law firm events, legal work experience opportunities with corporate partners and fast-track access to the AS Aspire coaching scheme. Applicants must be Aspiring Solicitors members, meet the stated university year requirements in September 2026, want to pursue a legal career at a commercial law firm and not have accepted a training contract with a law firm or legal team. Applications comprise a short online form with three substantive questions, each limited to 150 words. Applications close on 4 January 2027 and are assessed on a rolling basis.
