Union Square Partnership is seeking proposals for a temporary public artwork for Triangle Plaza in Union Square Park. Artists may submit an existing sculpture or design proposal, and proposed artwork must be freestanding, weigh at least 800 pounds, and not require anchoring to the plaza surface. Artists must be based in New York City or the NYC metropolitan area, or have a designated local proxy, and must secure funding, insurance, and a plan covering fabrication, transportation, installation, maintenance, and deinstallation. Installations may last from two weeks up to one year, typically remaining on view for three to six months. Proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis and must be submitted as one combined PDF with artist information, artwork details, images, budget and funding plan, proposed duration, and maintenance plan.
