Laser eye surgery that uses a precision Excimer laser to reshape the cornea. A hinged flap is created on the cornea, the laser reshapes the cornea, and the flap is replaced. Excellent vision is reached within a day, and most patients can return to work the following day. The total procedure takes 15 to 20 minutes for both eyes, although the laser treatment itself lasts only seconds.
