Details.
A less invasive mitral valve repair procedure performed through a small incision in the groin. MitraClip uses a cobalt chromium clip to join the mitral valve leaflets and reduce leakage. The procedure is intended for selected patients with severe degenerative mitral regurgitation who are at high risk for conventional heart surgery. The center uses advanced imaging, including three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography, to assess candidacy and monitor progress. The procedure typically takes one to three hours, depending on case complexity.
