Registered occupational therapists in Ontario must meet College registration criteria, including education, clinical practicum, currency, examination, professional liability insurance, suitability to practise, language fluency and work eligibility. Employers must verify registration and review any registration history, disciplinary actions, concerns, restrictions or limitations on the public register. Occupational therapists returning to practice may require a learning plan or supervised practice. Provisional occupational therapists may practise the full scope of occupational therapy under the supervision of an approved general occupational therapist.
