Landscape architects plan and create outdoor spaces, considering ecological factors, land use and human needs to develop sustainable public and private areas. At Ryder, work ranges from public realm and parks to university and school campuses, hospitals and research facilities, in collaboration with architects, engineers, planners, urban designers, ecologists and horticultural specialists. Routes into the profession include a Level 6 Landscape Architecture undergraduate qualification followed by a master's degree, or a Level 6 qualification in a related subject followed by a postgraduate conversion course. Graduates gain professional qualifications while working in practice and can become chartered members of the Landscape Institute.
