Triamcinolone steroid is injected directly into hypertrophic or keloid scar tissue to reduce collagen overproduction and flatten the scar. Best suited to raised acne scars, typically on the chest, shoulders or jawline. Typically requires 3 to 6 sessions every 4 to 6 weeks. Recovery is minimal, with possible mild local discomfort.
