The Mitzel Group is seeking a motivated and business-savvy attorney to join its growing labor and employment practice. The role focuses primarily on advice and counseling, with opportunities to engage in dispute and litigation, business development, and firm initiatives. Responsibilities include advising clients on employee relations, HR compliance, and employment best practices; conducting legal research; drafting and reviewing employment policies, agreements, handbooks, and other legal documents; drafting motions and pleadings; attending court hearings; managing disputes and litigation; handling government audits and agency proceedings; representing clients in dispute resolution and administrative proceedings; providing strategic guidance; and participating in business development. Qualifications include a law degree from an ABA-accredited law school, current membership in good standing with the California State Bar, 3-5 years of labor and employment law experience, prior law firm or professional services experience, strong research, organizational, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, law firm billing, and case management software.
