A fast imaging test used to assess bones, joints and other areas of the body. A qualified radiographer performs the scan, and a specialist doctor, or radiologist, reviews the images and provides a report to your referring practitioner. Usually no special preparation is required. Depending on the area being examined, you may need to change into a gown and remove jewellery, glasses or metal items. Please tell the clinic if you are pregnant or think you may be. Most X-rays take around 10 minutes once you are in the room, although this can vary depending on the area examined.
