A moving x-ray assessment of swallowing. You will eat and drink a variety of food and fluid consistencies mixed with barium contrast while the speech pathologist and radiographer guide you through the procedure. Different strategies and positions may also be trialled. No fasting or other preparation is required. Preliminary results and recommendations are provided immediately after the procedure, followed by a formal report sent to the referring doctor and, with consent, other treating team members.
